Paris, France: Visiting the Orsay Museum (Musee d'Orsay)

The weather was cold and gloomy during much of our Paris weekend trip but since we were there primarily to see the Orsay Museum, we didn't mind. We spent the entire day in the Museum, taking our time to see every exhibit.  Here are a few photos of the museum art.

Nice France Carnival Parade Photos

Nice has a big carnival every year in February and Trip Films.com sent me down to videotape it. My husband also joined me for one day - the day of the Carnival Parade - and took some photos. Here are a few of my favorites.

Wine!

My husband and I are wine fanatics. We try French wines from the different regions and take wine tasting trips. I'm a huge fan of California wine since that's where 'I cut my teeth' however it's very difficult to find in Chambery. I also love some Italian wines such as Primitivo and Amarone. Keeping with this theme, I thought I'd share a few photos of our wine adventures.

We do wine tastings of the Savoie regional wines on our  Tours. Join us!

Sarlat in Dordogne, France

Sarlat is an amazing town in the Dordogne region in France. It is one of the best-preserved Medieval towns in France, with both beautiful Medieval and Renaissance facades. It’s a great shopping city and the streets are filled with artists and musicians. The Perigord Noir region’s buildings all have a gold tint from the yellow stone of the area. I nicknamed Sarlat the Golden City. Here are a few of my favorite photos.

Boats of Brittany, France

We took a trip to Brittany last summer. It was the first time I had visited the area and I was pleasantly surprised. I love water - oceans, seas, gulfs, bays, lakes, rivers, ponds, puddles. Ok, maybe not puddles. If you put me in a boat on any body of water I become extremely happy. I grew up near boats, having my own by the time I was eight years old. My father sailed around the world on a boat after he retired. So the lovely boats of Brittany caught my eye and we took many photos of them. Here are a few.

Winters in the French Alps

After spending my entire life in Southern Florida, Southern California and Italy, getting used to the French Alps winters has not been easy. However, it is very lovely to look at if you don't have to be out in it.

Please Vote for Me!

I hope you don’t mind a little self-promotion. My other blog, http://www.american-in-france.com/, has been nominated as one of the best blogs for “The Top 100 International Exchange and Experience Blogs 2010″ awards of the LexioPhiles (http://www.lexiophiles.com/featured-article/the-top-100-international-exchange-and-experience-blogs-2010). The voting period goes from February 1st to February 14th.

I need your votes to win or at least make a good showing which could give me more traffic and publicity. I’m slowly getting found with two radio and blog interviews coming up and a few invitations as a guest blogger/videographer. But to make this a real ‘business’ and to make my French Alps Tours successful, I need loads of publicity and traffic, so please help by voting. Here’s the link below. I’m listed as American in France about halfway down the list. Thanks so much!

Annecy, France: Historic Cities of France

Annecy is a Medieval town with an ancient history. It sits on a gorgeous lake in the middle of the French Alps. It's nicknamed the Venice of the French Alps because of the small rivers and canals that run through the town. It attracts tourists from all over Europe and hosts numerous exceptional festivals. Walk through the old town and enjoy the lovely architecture, lake and canals.

Vist this city and all of the French Alps our our Tours!
