Seyssel, France

We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving (if you're American) and a great long holiday weekend.

This little city of Seyssel has a boat show every year. One of the events is showing how these big and gorgeous dogs are trained to rescue people from drowning. They gave demonstrations and it was really interesting.

The puppies are learning from the adult dogs.

Lyon, France: the Secret Passageways

Lyon built secret passageways or traboules in French back in the 1400 and 1500's. They were originally used to carry the delicate silk of the thriving silk industry throughout the town while keeping it from the elements like rain. Later in World War II they were used by the French Resistance to fight the Gestapo. You can still visit them today (there are over 300 of them) if you know where to look. Here are some of the best examples.
