Beara Peninsula, Ireland

The last peninsula that we visited was Beara. It's one of the most southern peninsulas and fairly untouched and unvisited. The scenery was beautiful here as well but we preferred Dingle out of all of them. Beara was alittle too 'untouched' for us. Enjoy the views.

Driving Through France

France is renowned for its wines, landscapes and old town charms, not to mention the food culture that permeates French society.  Here are some must-see destinations on your road trip through the French countryside.

1. French Alps
As popular in the summer as in the winter, the French Alps are home to the largest mountain in Europe, and endless miles of stunning scenery.  This is a great place to rent a car and explore the winding mountain roads and old towns.  Erento.co.uk has a great selection of cars to rent for your trip. ChambĂ©ry, Grenoble and Annecy are superb places to spend the day taking in the sights, or if you're feeling more adventurous, the French Alps offer plenty of opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, parasailing, and of course, skiing.

2. Loire Valley
Known as the 'Garden of France', the Loire Valley is a region world famous for its castles and wine. Parts of the region are listed by UNESCO as a world heritage site due to its breath-taking scenery and architecture.   The towns of Tours, Amboise, Blois and Chambord all offer great photo opportunities for your album.

3. Champagne-Ardenne
Famous as the birthplace of Champagne, this region also offers rolling hills and plenty of castles.   Naturally a must-visit destination for wine tasters, you can tour the countryside here, trying out the many different wineries.

4. Verdon Gorge
Europe's answer to the Grand Canyon is a spectacular destination for those who want to admire the landscape.  The rugged terrain was first explored last century, as it was long thought to be too dangerous.  The Verdon River, over millions of years, carved one of the most striking landmarks in Europe, which is best explored by car.  Be aware when hiking that good footwear is necessary, as the paths can be quite steep.
