The Reconstruction of a Medieval Fortress, Guedelon, France
This remarkable project, the Guedelon Fortress, was begun in 1997 under the supervision of Michel Guyot. The goal is to build a fortress using only the techniques utilized during medieval times. It is scheduled for completion in the 2020's. It created 55 jobs and receives 300,000 visits a year. Additionally, hundreds of people volunteer on the project annually. We really enjoyed our visit.
