Leaving for France - Permanently

In a few days I leave for France, carrying several luggage bags and two cats with me. I have a friend coming with me to carry one of the cats while I carry the other. This way I won't have to put one through the nightmare of going in cargo.

I sold my house a few weeks ago and moved out to stay at my brother-in-laws for three weeks while I did last minute errands and preparations before leaving.

The past few months I have watched my country, America, become a country I don't recognize anymore. A country run by greedy, corrupt, cruel men who care nothing about American citizens and have cut programs that will make our water and air toxic, our seniors hungry and homeless, our schools education available mostly to the wealthy, take away rights from immigrants, women, people of color and Muslims, and angers the rest of world. We are not the United States that I grew up in anymore. We are a new America that caters to the white male population and the rich. Those who govern us now are rich, white, corrupt, self-serving, greedy and ignorant. I cannot sit here and watch it with front row seats anymore.

I have been thinking of moving back to France from the first step I took back on American soil 18 months ago - I returned to build up my businesses again and sell my properties. After Trump's election I had no doubts anymore that returning to France was the goal. I have been working towards that goal for a year and now I am ready.

My stepchildren and my friends are in France. My work I can do from anywhere. There's really no reason to stay in the U.S. any longer.

Here are some photos of my house I sold and the boys I will be taking with me to start my new life. I will be based in the south of France for the first year as I choose a community and look for a small apartment to buy, which will be my final home.

I will continue to take photos and videos with my new cameras and post them here on this blog. I look forward to sharing my adventure with you visually.
